A shark could find a fish’s heart rhythm before attacking and eating it.

Sharks have an amazing sense of smell.

Sharks have a very keen sense of hearing but even more amazing is the fact about the sharks is that they can smell one drop of blood in a million drops of water!

Seems like fantastic but some sort of shark can certainly identify a fish’s heartbeat  nearly 85 cm away.

Did you know?

  • A great light shark doggie begins looking for food when it is born!

  • A shark can live up to 6 weeks without eating!

  • Did you know that sharks have only changed very little over the last 400 million years!

  • That means they were around 200 million years before the dinosaurs and that they look nearly the same now as they did when dinosaurs roamed the land.

  • There are over 350 different kinds of sharks and they live all over the world’s oceans. Some even live in rivers.
  • Sharks come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Their size can range from about as big as your hand to larger than a school bus.
  • Sharks are fish but they are quite different. Most fish have bones in their bodies but sharks don’t have a single bone. Their skeleton is made out of cartilage, which is a material that bends much more easily than bone.
  • If a shark would stop swimming it would sink like a stone. That’s why they always cruise around the water.
  • A shark does not chew – it swallows its food in whole.
  • A shark can grow a whole mouthful of teeth in one week.
