Doctors believe eating your boogers strengthens your immune system

This may be shock you but it's reality.

In the scientific and medical communities, the technical name for using one's finger to extract boogers is rhinotillexis, and doing so compulsively is termed

rhinotillexomania. The act of eating the resulting harvest is called mucophagy.

According to Dr. Friedrich Bischinger, a lung specialist working in Innsbruck, would have us believe that people who pick their noses with their fingers are healthier, happier, and more in tune with their bodies.

His reasoning is backed by the fact that our immune system is able to deal with pathogens we have encountered before by building antibodies to the foreign bacteria that got into our system in the first place, similar in idea to how a some preventative vaccines works. He therefore states "In terms of the immune system the nose is a filter in which a great deal of bacteria are collected, and when this mixture arrives in the intestines it works just like a medicine."

Another great advantage to picking your nose is that you get all those hard to reach places, hankies and tissues don't get. This causes a much cleaner nose and easier breathing. Sounds like a good deal to me.

So what do you say? Want some booger?
